Code of conduct for all teachers

  • Teachers must carry Identity Card issued by the College.
  • Teachers always sign the Attendance Register after arrival and they must provide the time of departure.
  • Teachers must follow the College Website regularly
  • Smoking is strictly Prohibited within the college premises.
  • College premises to be kept clean.
  • Teachers should strictly follow the college time table for their allotted classes. Any modification must be reported to the college authority well in advance.
  • While in class or attending meetings, mobile phones should either be in silent mode or switched off/flight mode .
  • Leaves have to be taken with prior permission from the authority. Teachers must refrain from enjoying unauthorized leave/s
  • Teachers should inform about their absence with reasons, from College if required, to the Principal as well as to the respective HODs.
  • College has been declared a plastic free zone. Therefore teachers must ensure to achieve this target/goal by their activities.
  • Teachers must perform their duties and responsibilities sincerely as different committee members to help the College administration.
  • Always see that the honesty and integrity of the institution is ensured.
  • Teachers must take part in co-curricular and extension programmes of the College to promote the core values of the institution.
  • Teachers should prevent ragging of students in any form in the College premises and see to it that the dignity of women (both students and female staff) is maintained.
  • Teachers should take proper care of the College property.
  • Teachers should uphold, advocate and encourage fellow feeling and respect as per the position.
  • Teachers should wear dress cognizant to their profession and social dignity.
  • Teachers should always try to achieve academic excellence in their respective sphere.
  • All teachers should use modern technology at their level best to keep pace with the fast growing technology and also to keep them afloat in the age of globalization for sustainable development.
  • All teachers should always give a patient hearing to the problems of the students and suggest them accordingly.
  • Teachers have to try to set example or become role model for students.
  • Teachers shall not be engaged in private tuition for commercial purpose.
  • Teachers must abide by the rules and regulations set by the Statute of the University of Calcutta, Govt. of West Bengal  and UGC.

 

Code of conduct for all Non-Teaching Staff

  •  Non-teaching staff must carry Identity Card issued by the College.
  • Non-teaching staff must always sign the Attendance Register after arrival and they must provide the time of arrivalk while leaving the College. Simultaneously record the arrival and departure.
  • Non-teaching staff must follow the College Website regularly.
  • Smoking and any other types of intoxication is strictly prohibited in the College premises.
  • Must keep the College neat and clean.
  • The College has been declared a plastic free zone. Non-teaching staff must ensure to achieve this goal by their activities..
  • Non-teaching staff must maintain the spirit of unity, integrity among themselves and with all other staff of the College.
  • Mobile phones should either be in silent mode or switched off/airplane mode while attending any meetings.
  • Non-teaching staff must abide by the service rules.
  • Non-teaching staff must not divulge official information or documents to any outsider. They must never tamper, delete, hide, alter or forge official documents/receipts.
  • The honesty and integrity of the institution is ensured.
  • Non-teaching staff must refrain from enjoying unauthorized leave/s. Leaves must be taken with prior permission from the authority.
  • Non-teaching staff must always properly execute the duties assigned to them by the higher authority within the stipulated time. They must respect the honour abide by the hierarchy of the authority.
  • Non-teaching staff should take proper care of the College property.

Code of conduct for all Students

  • Students have to enter the college wearing the identity cards .
  • No student will be allowed in the college premises if he/she fails to wear the identity cards.
  • Students must be punctual and regular in attending classes, tutorials , class tests and examinations.
  • Failure to obtain the required percentage of attendance, non-submission of assignments in required time.
  • unjustified and long absence from class, tests or examinations will be treated as breach of code of conduct.
  • Students must be seated in their classrooms before a class begins.
  • Students cannot enter or leave the class without the permission of the concerned teacher.
  • Impersonation during Roll call is a punishable offence.
  • Use of mobile phones during class hours, in library, during class tests or examinations is strictly.
  • prohibited and is liable for punishment .
  • Any kind of malpractice will  not be tolerated and will be dealt with severe punishment.
  • When a lecturer is absent or is unable to take class, students should maintain a strict order among themselves so as to not disturb the adjoining classes. Under no circumstances should they leave the classroom without ascertaining the relieve orders from the Staff room.
  • Students are expected to treat the members of the staff both teaching and non teaching and their fellow students with courtesy both in and outside the College. Students shall not, by their act or conduct, cause damage to the reputation of the institution.
  • Students are expected to come to College dressed suitably maintaining decency.
  • Students are not allowed to loiter or stand about the verandas or corridors of the College during class hours.
  • When assembled every class must consider itself responsible for the conduct of its members.
  • Students are forbidden from inviting friends from other institutions and outsiders to the College.
  • No posters are to be pasted or fixed anywhere on the College walls. Any writing, scribbling on the walls will attract disciplinary measures against the student.
  • Smoking, chewing and spitting tobacco products or pan masala, consumption of alcohol or narcotic drugs is strictly prohibited inside the college premises. Violation of this rule will invite disciplinary action. The college premises is a smoking free zone, respect it.
  • Students must refrain from mishandling and tampering with library books or college computer systems.
  • A student shall not commit or cause breach of peace inside and around the College campus.
  • Students are prohibited from indulging in games, even in small groups, anywhere in the College premises during lecture hours.
  • Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited.
  • Disciplinary action will be taken against those who violate this rule.
  • University of Calcutta related to ragging.
  • Any damage or defacement of college property is a punishable offence. If a college property is found damaged in a classroom while the class is assembled the loss may be recovered by a fee imposing upon the whole class if the students responsible for such damage cannot be detected.
  • Habitual misconduct/repeated breach of the College Rules & Regulation will be considered as a grave offence and will result in suspension/expulsion of the student with immediate effect.
